Sponsoring Agency: OPOA & Clatsop County Sheriff's Overview: Also known as "Mantracking", this day long training will introduce the concept of visual tracking to law enforcement in the form of a lecture presentation with the bulk of the class being actual hands-on training. Tracking is learning to see “sign” evidence. “Sign” is defined as the discoverable physical evidence of the presence or passage of a person. Case studies demonstrating the use of tracking evidence will also be presented. Students will be in the field working sign evidence and practical simulations highlighting tracking evidence. Please dress weather appropriate as we will be outdoors after a two-hour classroom presentation segment. * Please Dress for the weather, there will be a 2-hour block of outdoor training Instructors: Anthony Lorange, Sign Cutter, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office (Ret.) Anthony Lorange is a professional tracker, with over eight years of experience. His certification and continued training is through Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services and the Pacific Crest Tracker’s Association. He has utilized his tracking training to investigate incidents that have included missing persons, suicides, burglaries, homicides and DTO grows. Ron Glaus, Journeyman Tracker, Polk County Sheriff's Office Ron Glaus is a semi-retired Forensic Psychologist who joined the Polk County (Oregon) Sheriff's Office as a Reserve Deputy in 1989. He provided consultation psychological services to law enforcement agencies across Oregon and was a training coordinator for several years at the DPSST. Michael Black, Apprentice Tracker, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Michael Black is a Certified Apprentice Tracker and Assistant Instructor with JHPTS, an active member of PCTA and the Polk County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Unit as well as a Special Deputy on the PCSO Cold Case Team.
