Mark Makler, Attorney, Code3Law
Mark is a labor attorney and a partner with Code3Law, which represents multiple police associations in Oregon and Washington. Mark has been representing police unions for over 20 years.
Mike Staropoli – Attorney
Mike is a criminal defense attorney who specializes in representing law enforcement officers who have been involved in deadly force and other critical incidents. Mike has been representing officers in this capacity for 30 years.
Brief Overview:
This course is intended primarily for newer union representatives who represent sworn police officers in the state of Oregon. During this course we will discuss tactics to build a healthy relationship between labor and police management. This course will cover, discipline processes, contract negotiations, in-custody deaths, and Officer Involved Shootings. The focus of this course will be to discuss tactics to work with management to craft policies and contracts which provides fair representation to officers while fostering a good working relationship with agency management.
