Brief Overview:
DOJ Senior Assistant Attorneys General David Thompson and Leigh Salmon will provide an interactive update on recent case law regarding searches and seizures. This class is designed for anyone who needs to know anything about search and seizure: patrol officers, supervisors, detectives, street crimes/narcotics officers, and deputy district attorneys. Test your knowledge about search and seizure laws and recent appellate court decisions using actual officer-citizen encounters. Some of the topics discussed will include traffic and investigative stops, search warrants, and exceptions to the warrant requirement. The training will be followed by a Q&A session.
